Is the Real Estate Market Stabilzing?
On March 15th I published a Real Estate Market Report for the Continental Ranch, Continental Reserve, Sunflower, and Silverbell Place neighborhoods. When looking at the February numbers, I discovered a surprise - the average sales price of homes in this area went up by 11%. The report has a few graphs which depicts the economic crisis and shows a pretty good decline. In fact, region wide we lost about 18% from last year.
A couple of days later, The Daily Territorial announced that the median price of homes rose 9% in the region from $163,250 to $178,000. Multiple Listing President (and owner of Tierra Antigua Realty) Kimberly Clifton was quoted as saying 'Our year to date statistics don''t show any remarkable change in either a positive or negative way and in that sense it's encouraging' and 'Dramatic changes aren't what we need right now'.
